Thwarted

Since everyone was disappointed by the lack of "lots of pictures" in my last post, I was going to take a ton of pictures of Lucas yesterday and make a "Day in the Life of Lucas George" post. I was thwarted! Lucas has been running a high fever since Sunday morning and we have no idea why. Up until yesterday this hadn't affected him much, aside from being a little more fussy and a little more tired. Yesterday started off being so normal. We woke up. I love his sleepy face.

Had some breakfast. Much happier.

Called some friends.

Went for a drive. He likes to sit on it backwards sometimes and I think it's so funny.

Watched some cartoons, he loves the Simpson's and Family Guy. He will seriously sit and watch an entire episode. I don't know how that happened but it drives me crazy.

Had some more breakfast.

And then we went to exercise. Here he is flexing his muscles for you... not really, I put that headband on him and he freaked out and he's just trying to get it off.

And all of this before 10 am. We have very busy mornings. Then Lucas went down for his nap... and slept for 20 minutes. He usually takes a 2 1/2 hour nap. He was so tired but he just wouldn't sleep. We had been giving him medicine to keep his fever down, but it just wasn't cutting it yesterday. He pretty much had a temp between 101 and 103 all day yesterday. And looked like this for the rest of the day.

So that's when the pictures pretty much stopped. He was SO mad. It was a rough day. After a lot of walks and effort, I got him to sleep for about an hour total in the afternoon so he was a little happier but still grumpy. I made some cookies to pass out to some people in the ward and because Lucas was so grumpy, when he grabbed one off the cooling rack while I wasn't looking, I totally let him eat the whole thing.

Hey, he stopped fussing for a whole 20 minutes. I'm only human. He loved that cookie.

Sometimes a whole cookie is sooo worth the 10-20 minutes of happiness. I think we are all on the same page. He is so dang cute! Fun idea!

You should try some lavendar and peppermint oils on his feet and back. Helps with fever and with sleep.

Bubbers makes a really cute sick baby. I tasted those cookies and found them to have unusual healing powers. I think you should give him another:)

So glad you fell into the pressure of posting more pictures! I am sorry to hear Lucas isn't feeling well- I hope he gets better fast! But for the record, he's even really cute when he's sick!
