Blue Eyes

Yesterday was just one of those days where the kids were really sweet and happy and I felt so blessed to have them in my life.  I snapped a few pictures of the two of them and I couldn't believe how blue their eyes were in the pictures so I just had to post them.  I mean, are you kidding me?  How did she get to be so stinking cute?!  And where did she get those beautiful eyes?
I love her fluffy hair in this one.
And Lucas is shirtless as always.  I sure wish I could get this boy to wear clothes.
But he's just so sweet it's hard to be mad.
Don't worry, Lucas refused to take a nap today and I'm like 90% sure that Paige is teething today, so they made up for being so good yesterday.  But overall I'd say we're pretty lucky to have such amazing kids.

Birthday Pictures

My sister-in-law came up to visit last week and we took some one year old birthday pictures of my nephew, Scott.  It was fun looking for ideas online before hand, and even though you always think of things you wish you would have done differently after the fact, I still think we did pretty good.  It helps that he is such a cutie.
These are just my favorites.  You can look at the rest on Becky's blog.

The Baby in the Mirror

Paige loves to look at herself in the mirror.  She sits there and giggles at herself.  It's pretty cute to watch.
Once I brought the camera out she got a little preoccupied by it and wasn't as interested in looking at herself.  But I love her happy little screams.

Our Valentine's Day

We had a fun valentine's day this year. Lucas exchanged valentines with his preschool class and we had a little party. These are the valentines we made.
As is tradition we made our favorite sugar cookies.  I got Ryan and Lucas some cute matching shoes.
Ryan got me some flowers and fun new sheets for the bed. And Paige and Lucas slept in till 8:30 the morning after Ryan and I went on our valentine's date.
This is her favorite sleeping position.  She rolls up into this little ball with her hands and legs underneath her.  I love it!  Especially when she does it till 8:30.

Field Trip to the Grocery Store

We went on a preschool field trip to Safeway a few weeks ago. The safety inspector was there that day so they didn't get to take us into the back to see all the really cool stuff, but the kids had just as much fun going to all the different counters and getting free samples of stuff.

The top selling cheese at the deli counter is apparently Munster cheese.  Who knew?  The produce guy told us all about how to pick out the ripe fruits and veggies. And at the meat counter the kids were pretty impressed by the whole crabs, (that's what they are staring at in this picture), and we got some crab meat as a free sample - my favorite part.
They all got to take home a balloon.  Here's the whole group with only about 3 of them actually looking at the camera. It's hard with kids this age, especially when they have balloons to play with.

5 Months

Paige has really become a lot more mobile this month.  I know she will get even more so in the months to come, but it's always a surprise when your newborn starts moving around and you can't leave them just anywhere cause they will roll off of stuff or get into things.  Paige started out the month with just the basics of rolling over, and now she rolls all over the place, and gets her feet and knees underneath her so she can scoot around.  She used to be sleeping in the bassinet in our room, but since she started rolling and scooting, she got really angry when she would run into the sides.  Even in the crib she runs out of room, though.  She got her leg stuck in the slats of the crib for the first time a week ago.

We've given her a few solid foods and so far she is a huge fan.  She loves to suck on and eat anything she can get her hands on.  We have a water bottle we let her suck on while we're eating dinner and she gets really into it.  I need to video tape it and post it so you can see how ridiculous she is.

Her most recent accomplishment is being able to sit up.  She gets a little better every day.  5 days ago she could only go for a few seconds, and just today she sat up on her own for like 2 minutes.  She likes being able to see everything and not just the ceiling.  I may have gone overboard taking pictures of her sitting up, but I couldn't help it; she it just so cute!
And she couldn't go for more than a few seconds without finding something to eat.  This kids loves to chew on stuff.

In the Tub

Paige loves to take baths, but she especially loves to be in the big bathtub.  She loves to kick her feet and splash around.  We discovered this over the holidays when we needed to bathe her and didn't have her infant tub.  As soon as you put her in she gets this freaked out look on her face, and then she starts kicking around as fast as she can.  At first I thought she didn't like it, but after a while she starts smiling and giggling.  The beginning of this video is a little blurry but you still get the idea.  Enjoy my awesome editing skills.  :)

Lucas loves to get in the tub with her and play with her.  I'm going to love embarrassing them with these photos unedited when they get older.
And here are some pictures of Paige wearing a onesie that I made 2 years ago.  It has been waiting a while for a cute little baby to wear it.
I can't get enough of this little sweetie.  Also, does this face look familiar to anyone....?
Hmm, I wonder where she gets it?
