One Month

Logan is a month old, I would say I can't believe it, but honestly it really does feel like it's been a month! He's changed so much in such a short amount of time. He used to not sleep unless we were holding him, but he sleeps so much better now. He loves sleeping on his tummy especially, but I only let him do that when I'm in the room and checking on him periodically. He sleeps great at night too. He'll usually sleep for 5 hours from 10-3, and then wakes up around 6. For the hour before he wakes up he just grunts non stop. It drives me crazy cause I can't sleep through it, but he certainly does. Maybe some day I'll get the courage to move Paige into Lucas's room and then I'll move Logan into the nursery and I can sleep for that last hour.

Eating is going much better than it was at the start. Not that he wasn't a good eater, he just wanted to eat like every 30 minutes. Now we're on a much more regular schedule and he doesn't spit up as much as he used to. He still loves the Moby wrap as much as he has from day one. He likes to stare at me for about 10 minutes and then fall asleep. He really likes to snuggle up against my chest. If ever I can't get him to fall asleep I just put him in that thing and he's out!

I realized I haven't posted photos from the day Logan was born. This is what we were doing a month ago...

Getting ready to head to the hospital. Don't let that smile fool you. I was having contractions every 3 minutes and I was so worried we weren't going to make it to the hospital.
We made it in plenty of time.  Once we were on the road and I was a little more calm, my contractions slowed down.  Still, I was at 6cm when we got checked into the hospital.  This was my easiest and favorite labor so far.  I was so stressed out about it before hand, but everything worked out perfectly.  Here we are with our brand new baby boy.
My biggest baby, so chubby already.
Lucas and Paige came to see their new baby brother.  Lucas was SOOO excited!
Paige was a little more unsure, but still excited.
I love how fuzzy Logan is.  He's a sweet little guy.
And here we are getting ready to leave the next day.  I was feeling so great and I wanted to be able to visit with Lucas and Paige and spend time with my family in the comfort of my own home.
It's starting to feel natural to have Logan in our family and we are getting into a nice routine.  We can't make it out of the house before 11, and there's at least 12 times a day where all three kids are crying and screaming at the same time, but we're getting there.

Logan VS Lucas Comparison

I was going through some baby pictures of Lucas to see how he and Logan compare and I was surprised by how similar they are.  Lucas was looking at the pictures with me and he thought they were of Logan.  When I actually put the pictures side by side I can definitely tell the difference, but they sure do look a lot alike.  Can you tell who is who?

First picture Lucas is on top, second Lucas is on the left, and third Lucas is on the right.  Lucas and Logan act a lot alike as newborns too, which is funny because the pregnancies were so similar.  They both hated/hate being swaddled, and neither of them was/is as much of an angel as Paige - but I don't think it's possible to have another baby as perfect as Paige.  And they both gained a ton of weight in the beginning.  We had Logan's first dr appointment today and he weighs 9lbs, 15 oz.  He's gained a pound and a half in three weeks.  Overall Logan has been pretty good.  It's easier with second and third babies because you know what you're doing.  With Lucas we were just clueless.  We are starting to get into a rhythm and I'm starting to get used to three kids all on my own.  We've had a lot of help from friends and family too, which is nice!

I've been trying to come up with activities here at home to keep Lucas and Paige entertained without having to turn on the tv.  We've been going to the park too, but when it gets really hot I don't want to go outside.  We've done a lot of playing with sidewalk chalk, and building forts with the couch cushions.  The other day we used the cushions to jump around.  The kids loved this activity - obviously!

Today I decided to make a color scavenger hunt list for Lucas.  I gave him a check list of different colors and told him to find something in each color.  He found a few things in each color and spent almost an hour searching around for them.  These are most of the things he found.  A few of the things were too big for the picture.  He was getting really into it.  We will definitely be repeating this one.
