Lucas's First day of First Grade

This summer went by way too quickly. Summer vacation is getting shorter and shorter every year as it is, but even still I feel like we just didn't get as much swimming and adventuring in as I wanted to. Maybe next year. Lucas was so excited for his first day of first grade! My mom got him a new watch to wear on his first day and I let him open it that morning. He was so excited!
Here he is all dressed and ready to go.
Paige wanted to get in on the picture.
Look at this difference between last year's first day of school pic and this year. He was a baby!
Here he is in class ready to learn!
I was dying at how cute he looked here holding his pencil and writing.
And as a reward after his first day of school he got to eat a chocolate bar.
This little man sure is growing up quickly!

Last Day of Kindergarten

Lucas had his last day of kindergarten today. I took a picture of him in the same outfit he wore to his first day of school. I think he looks pretty much the same, a little taller and missing a tooth, but not too different overall. He's learned and changed a lot in other ways, though.
His school did a little kindergarten graduation ceremony so we all went to it.
Lucas and his teacher Ms. Greci.
And one more in front of his school.
We're excited for summer vacation. Hopefully it stays that way. It's times like this I wish we had a pool.

Lucas's First Day of Kindergarten

Lucas started Kindergarten today.  We are all so excited!  Here he is in his first day of school outfit and brand new shoes.
Paigey wanted to pose in her new clothes and shoes too.
I know this post is all about Lucas but...I mean...are you kidding me?!  I can't even handle all the cuteness.
They sure do love each other.
And of course the shoe picture.
I have been so ready for this day to come and really to be honest I'm not sad about it at all.  I just know Lucas is so excited and ready and eager to go and learn.  And well, he's a handful and I'm ready to have a break from him.  I guess I maybe would have gotten teary eyed this morning if I wasn't so busy worrying about getting him to school on time with all the stuff he needed.  One of Lucas's parents get teary eyed though, and I'll just leave it at that.  :)
Here he is waiting in line to go into his class.
Ryan stayed for the first few minutes of class to take pictures for the teacher.  I may have volunteered him, just so I could get some pictures of Lucas in his class.  And so the teacher will like us.  :)
I'm excited for this new step for Lucas, and he is too.  We'll just have to see if he's excited to go back tomorrow.
