Family Pictures

We took family pictures a few weeks ago. I know it's a little weird, but I love taking family pictures. I think I might make it a tradition to do them the beginning of every summer. This is our second year doing it and the background is always so green and pretty. I love it. Here are a few of my favorites.

Yeehaw!!

Today Lucas and I went with some friends to the Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point. It was pretty fun, and cheap too. We will be going back. Especially since Lucas knows which animals these are and he can make the noises. Although, we had a little run in with a cow. Lucas was petting him and loving it.

And then the cow mooed right in his face. Lucas was terrified. And every time the cow mooed while we were over there he freaked out and started crying. But when we walked away, every time the cow mooed he mooed right back, so I'm guessing no permanent damage done.

Then we went for a ride on the wagon and took a tour of the farm. I'm really bad at these pictures so we're chopped. Sorry.

Lucas was a little less than impressed. He just wanted to get down and touch the animals. He ended up screaming and scaring the horses and the lady doing the tour hand to stand up to get control of them. Nothing bad really happened, but I was pretty sure we were going to be thrown off for a second there.

Next we went and played in the pretend jail. Lucas liked this one.

Then we got to sit on a little baby horse.

Lucas was a little unsure so we didn't ride him. But we pet him and that was just fine.

We got to feed the goats.

And look at baby chicks.

Lucas had a blast so if anyone wants to go ride a horse and pet the cows, let me know and we'll go with you.

So Easy

Since I'm not totally decided on what I'm going to do with the owl fabric, I thought I'd make another blanket instead this morning.

It was so easy, it took me like 2 hours. And I was watching Lucas the whole time. Anyone could do this. I heard that minky fabric is really difficult to work with, but I followed this tutorial and it was a breeze. And I think Lucas likes it.

Feeling Crafty

I went to the cotton shop the other day just to waste some time and look what I found.

It's that super soft "minky" fabric and I really want to make something with it. Any ideas? I'm thinking baby blanket, obviously, but I'm open to making other things on top of that because I love this fabric. While I was there I saw some really cute quilting fabrics too so now I'm feeling extremely crafty and have all sorts of ideas for things I can make. Most of them are baby related so someone I know needs to have a baby soon so that I can make them a really cute baby blanket.

Bring on the ideas so I can start crafting.

Guess Who's Coming to Breakfast

Lucas brought his puppy to breakfast today. He's gotten a lot more attached to objects lately and puppy is one of his favorites. He takes puppy in the car and to bed. Today he tried to get puppy to eat his teddy grahams. I looked over and he was totally offering them to the puppy's mouth. He's so sweet to share.

Kiss

Lucas has started being so affectionate lately. He gives hugs and kisses and he walks up to us and grabs our legs and squeezes them so tight. Yesterday I asked him for a kiss and he grabbed my face and pulled me in for a huge wet kiss. I gotta be honest, I loved it!

Future Gardener

A few weeks ago we went to the botanical gardens with some family. Lucas seriously loves plants. I think we have a future gardener on our hands.

I love going to the botanical gardens. They are always so pretty. I'm a sucker for flowers.

Lucas liked riding in the wagon with his cousins.

And riding on uncle Bret.

And no trip with my family would be complete if we didn't do something potentially dangerous that could get us kicked out.

All in all, it was a fun time and we got some really cute pictures.

First Hair Cut

Lucas got his first hair cut yesterday. Here are some ridiculous before pictures.


And here he is getting his hair cut.

He was okay at first and then when she pulled out the loud buzzers to trim his side burns, he freaked out.

So we took him to Wendy's afterwards for some fries and a frosty. That fixed everything.
