Cobb Salad

For Ryan's graduation in April we went out to Lunch at Goodwood. I ordered my very first Cobb Salad. It was amazing and I've been obsessed ever since. I don't know how I went through the first 24 years of my life without ever having a cobb salad and I think the first 23 years without even knowing what a cobb salad was, but now I'm making up for lost time. I've had cobb salads at 3 other restaurants and I think my favorite is still the one at Goodwood. This last week I decided to try making my own at home and I must say it was pretty darn good. We're definitely going to start making this more often.

I Love Footed Pajamas!!!

What Matters Most

I love this video. The Mormon Messages always uplift me.

4 Months

I can not believe our baby is 4 months old, and yet I feel like we've had him a lot longer than 4 months. Everyday he seems so much more advanced than the day before and he's constantly surprising me with how smart and how strong he is. He's rolling all over the place and starting to get into things, he's starting to try sitting up, he follows objects and people and turns to look at you when you're talking, and he reaches for everything including dad when he gets home from work which is just about the cutest thing I've seen in my entire life. He's also a really social baby. He loves to smile and laugh at people, and even when he's super fussy, if someone new comes over to say hi, he gives them a huge smile. The other day I was checking out at the grocery store and apparently Lucas was just flirting it up with the two girls in line behind me. I turned around to find him smiling and laughing at them and they were drooling all over him. I can already tell he's going to be a ladies man.

He's also growing so much. We went to his 4 month check up yesterday. He's 15 1/2 lbs and 26 inches long. He's almost grown out of all his 0-3 month clothes. I miss some of his old outfits, but it's also fun getting to try some new things on him. This is one that Ryan and I got almost 2 years ago. We saw it at the store and knew we had to get it for our future baby who was bound to be a genius engineer. No pressure Lucas. :)

I'm really bad at taking pictures of myself but his face was so cute in this I had to post it.

I can't wait to see what the next 4 months will bring.

So Busy!!

We have been SO busy lately, and this weekend is going to be even worse. Ryan just started school up again and he's the head TA for a class so this week he's been working overtime getting all the other TA's up to speed and starting all the labs. We've got a lot going on with our callings right now, and we have to teach Sunday school on Sunday - not my favorite. Not to mention that Lucas has still been sick, so we just haven't had time to update the blog. There isn't really anything exciting to update on either so I'm just going to post a few pictures.

On labor day we went to a carnival on center street. They always have carnivals there on holidays but we hadn't ever gone so we thought it would be fun to go. It wasn't really. But we got a bunch of people to go so that made if more fun. Here we are eating authentic tacos.

And here's Lucas passed out. He was a tired boy.

And this is a picture I took yesterday. Lucas likes to stick out his tongue when he smiles. I love his eyes.

Sick

Lucas and I have both been sick for the past few days. It's definitely a different experience being sick and having a sick baby. In some ways it's harder because you can't always rest when you need to and you're all stuffy and a crying baby doesn't help your headache, but in other ways it's easier because I care so much about Lucas that I just feel bad for him and want him to be happy and it takes my mind off of being sick. He is kinda funny when he's sick. He's still happy sometimes, but he goes from being happy to really mad pretty much instantly. He really likes his medicine, though. :) He is his daddy's son.

Here he is being happy.

And here he is being angry.

This morning he was throwing a fit so I set him down to grab something and all of a sudden he just stopped crying. I turned around and he was just laying there watching TV. He's a lazy boy.

The video in the last post of Lucas rolling over was taken last week. On Tuesday of this week he decided he could roll over the other way too. Now we're going to have to be more careful where we put him down.

Look how proud he is of himself.

Videos

We've taken a lot of videos of Lucas over the past three months but we haven't posted any of them to the blog yet. Our video camera is an HD one so Ryan has to change the format to something that blogger can handle before we can post them. He changed a few of them today so we'll post these now and then post more of our favorites as they get done.

This first one is of Lucas and his old man sneeze.

This next one is of Lucas doing his dance. When he's on the floor he likes to kick his legs and do a little dance. I love it. He gets more animated than this sometimes, but whenever we pull out the camera he gets so mesmerized that he stops what he was doing.

This is one of Lucas eating his hand. He used to just lick his had like an ice cream cone but lately he's been getting it all the way in there and sucking on his fingers. This one is an older video from when he just licked it.

Here's a funny video of Lucas and his cousin Dallin. They weren't very happy.

This is probably my favorite video. I was playing with Lucas one day when I realized he's ticklish. I LOVE his laugh when he's being tickled.

And last but not least, look at Lucas's new trick!

I hope you all enjoyed the videos. Especially you, Mom. Feel better soon.
