7 Months

I thought this onesie was especially appropriate for this month picture, because he has been really getting around this month, like a little turtle except much faster. He was a slow crawler last month, but this month he has gotten fast, and has figured out what he's not supposed to be getting into, and crawls to it as quickly as he can.  The stairs are his favorite and he will make a bee line for them if I don't put the gate up.  He will do the same with the top of the stairs, but does not know how to climb down them, so that really isn't as much fun for him and I don't know why he's determined to keep going for them. Good thing he's cute! As smiley as ever.
He also does this funny crawling thing where he'll crawl on his hands and feet, not his hands and knees.  He does it when he's not wearing pants and he's on the cold floor.  It's hilarious and it makes me laugh every time.

We've been doing more solid foods this month, including smoothies because he has already figured out how to work a straw.  I love being able to get my kids to eat fruits and veggies so easily, and now Logan has joined in.  It's great! He loves everything he has tries and is always grabbing at my food. His first tooth also broke through just a few days ago.  He has been working on that one for a while.  Soon he'll be eating much more exciting foods, and he can't wait!

Logan's 6 Month Photos

I realized the other day that Logan is almost 7 months old and I haven't gotten his 6 months photos taken yet.  With both Lucas and Paige I got their pictures taken at JC penny, and I didn't want Logan to feel left out, but we've all been so sick these last few weeks, and I just wasn't sure when we'd be able to get over there to do it, so I just decided to take them myself yesterday.  I think they turned out pretty cute.  Lucas wore this outfit for his 6 month photos, so I decided to have Logan wear it too so I could see how much alike they are.
I need to do a side by side with Paige too and see who he looks more like.  I think he has a lot of similarities to both of them.  In some pictures he look just like Lucas and in some he looks just like Paige. It's funny because when I was looking at old pictures of Lucas the other day, Lucas came over and asked, "Is that Logan, where am I?"  He didn't believe me when I told him they were pictures of him.

Anyway, back to Logan.  He's adorable! And he can read too; he's so smart.  :-P
I love him in this shirt and tie.  By this point he was getting tired, though, so he didn't cooperate for long.  Here he is chewing on his fingers.  I sure hope those teeth pop through soon, cause I'm done with teething.
He pulls on his ears when he's tired.  Lucas did this too.
And one more smile and I called it a day.

6 Months

I know I'm like 2 weeks late with this post.  I didn't have time to take pictures before we left for Christmas, and then we were too busy to take pictures on Christmas eve which was his actual 6 month mark, and then after that he got sick and his eyes have been so red and puffy for the last two weeks I felt bad taking a picture of him.  Oh well.  He was such a sweet, smiley baby while he was sick, but I'm glad that he's finally starting to get better. It's been rough nursing a stuffy baby.  He was having a really hard time with nursing a few months ago but has gotten a lot better in the last month and a half.  We also discovered that he hates being cold.  He was not super impressed by the chilly temperatures over Christmas.

He has been crawling for almost 2 months now and has stayed pretty slow and didn't get in to too much until this last week or so.  Now he's fast and has started getting in to everything.  He also couldn't ever climb the stairs because his legs were too short to get up over the stair, but just yesterday he realized he's tall enough now and he makes a bee line for the stairs every chance he gets.  He's fast getting up the stairs too.  Luckily I have a Lucas that is obsessed with Logan and will sit behind him and watch him while he's playing on the stairs.
I'm pretty sure that Logan is teething because he has been chewing and drooling on everything.  The teeth haven't come through yet but they look close.  He also loves to drink cold water from cups, and just chew on the cup too.  He always tries to grab food from us and seems very interested in eating.  I haven't done a ton of solid foods with him yet, but will probably start trying them on a regular basis in the next week or so.  He has had oatmeal, bananas, bread, and mashed potatoes, and he seems to love everything he tries.

The other thing I love about Logan right now is the fluffy hair he has growing in.  It's getting long enough that you really notice it now, but it's still short enough that it sticks straight up.  I love it.  I tried to get pictures of it but he wouldn't hold still long enough for me to take any, so I had to just take some while he was asleep.  He's so cute!  I just love his fluffy hair!

Happy New Year

It's kind of amazing how quickly the years go by now. I feel like time is flying the older I get. But still looking back I can't believe all we've accomplished and all the changes that have happened in the past year. Paige was still just a little baby at the beginning of the year, and now we have another baby. What were we thinking!? Seriously, though, we've had a good year and we really love doing things with our little family.

January - We started out the year with a pretty mild winter so we spent a lot of time outside and at the park.  Lucas learned to ride a bike and Paige learned to give me a heart attack by climbing up the ladders and things at the park like her brother.

February -  We found out that Logan was going to be a boy this month and I spent a lot of time making his baby quilt and getting the nursery ready for him. We also went to the fire station on a preschool field trip.  Lucas loved going to preschool with his friends.

March - On a particularly warm weekend we went to the beach with Grandma Crapo and some cousins. Our kids get spoiled with warm weather very early on in the year. We also continued our family bike rides in the warmer weather.  Now that Lucas could ride a bike he wanted to bike with us rather than ride in the trailer.

April - This year we started taking advantage of free museum tickets from the library.  We went to a wildlife museum, the California Academy of Science, and later on in the year we went to the Exploratorium. Lucas also started taking swim lessons. He loves swimming and has gotten pretty good at it.

May - May was a big month! We started off going to Disneyland. This was our last trip on our annual passes and will probably be our last trip for a while. Ryan went on a business trip to London and got to visit so many cool places while he was there. While he was gone the kids and I went and stayed with my mom and dad and we got to go and do fun things too, including a visit to Happy Hollow. We ended the month by celebrating Lucas's 5th birthday. We went to a fun indoor water park with my family, and then later had a little superhero themed birthday party with Lucas's preschool friends complete with capes, an obstacle course, and a pinata.

June - June was hot so we spent as much time at the pool as we could. I also finished getting ready for the new baby to come. Logan was born on June 24th at 4:38pm. He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. He was by far my easiest labor yet. He is such a sweet little guy. Both Lucas and Paige love him so much!

July - Most of the next month was spent at home snuggling with our new baby.  We did get to have daddy stay home for two weeks for some baby bonding time.  We went to Super Franks and did some bowling too. Paige and Lucas got good at entertaining themselves while I was taking care of Logan. They liked playing in the backyard and drawing with chalk.

August - In August we blessed Logan and had some of our family come out and visit for it. Then at the end of the month Lucas started Kindergarten.  He was SO excited!!  The days were a bit long for him at first, but he has really loved going to school and he is doing and learning so much. He has really taken off in his reading too.

September - Paige turned 2 this month and we celebrated by going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with Grandma and Grandpa Crapo. The kids love the aquarium. I love eating at the Fish Hopper beforehand. And of course we all love eating at Ghirardelli afterwards.

October - The kids wore the same Halloween costumes this year that they did last year. Score! I'd like to say they enjoyed getting dressed up for trick-or-treating, but to be honest they have been dressing up in their Halloween costumes all year long so trick-or-treating was just another day to them. Although they did really enjoy getting all the candy!

November - This month we got our family pictures taken, which wasn't particularly fun for the kids, but was quite a feat for Ryan and I to accomplish.  Logan started crawling this month at 4 1/2 months. All of my kids have been early movers, but he is by far the earliest.  Ryan and I also celebrated our 8th anniversary this year.

December - I turned 30 this year. It was actually a really fun birthday and I'm pretty happy to be 30 - I love my life and my family!  The kids and I had a really fun time celebrating Christmas all month long by making cookies, watching Christmas movies, and listening to Christmas music. We also had a great time going to Utah and spending time with both mine and Ryan's family for Christmas.  The kids especially loved playing in the snow.

I love looking back at the year to see all of the fun we've had and all the blessings we've received. Here's to hoping that 2015 is a great year too - for us and for all our friends and family.

Christmas at the Cabin

This Christmas my family all got together at a cabin in Heber, Utah.  There was snow everywhere which made it so beautiful and picturesque and especially fun for the kids because they got to play in it.  It was large too, which is good when you have as big a family as I do.  We got family pictures taken one of the days we were there.  With 4 new grandbabies born in 2014, we were a very large group.
We also rode the Polar Express one of the days we were there.  The kids had so much fun riding the train.  Logan loved sucking on my hot cocoa cup.  I bet he would have liked it even better if I'd let him taste the cocoa.
He has been teething for the last few weeks so he sticks out his tongue like this a lot.
The kids were a lot less nervous of Santa for this than they have been in the past.  Lucas and Paige voluntarily sat next to him and Lucas even told him what he wanted.
We all got little bells to take home and I'm pretty sure the kids were shaking them the whole ride back.  Everyone but Logan who was sucking on his.
 Paige danced with the elves.
She is so cute in her little snow hat.
After the Polar Express we all went out to eat at this burger place that has a train running around the ceiling.  Paige was obsessed with the train and watched it the entire time we were there.
There was also a train table and a lego table there.  The kids were having so much fun we just decided to let them play for almost an hour after we got done eating.
It seems like my kids are always waking up before everyone else when we go on trips.  Luckily aunt Julie brought toys for the kids to play with so we weren't too bored while waiting for everyone else to wake up.
I got some candy cane jammies for Lucas to match the ones we already had for Logan and Paige.  Lucas was so happy to match them.  They are such cute little pajama babies.  And yes, Paige wore that necklace pretty much the entire trip.
Here they are looking in their stockings on Christmas morning.
 Getting ready to open presents.
Paige got these adorable boots from my mom and dad.
Paige got a shopping cart from Santa.  Daddy helped put it together.
Lucas got a hot wheels track from Santa.  He was pretty excited, too!
My mom and dad opened their presents last after all the kids were done opening their presents and were playing with their new toys.
My kids were a little nervous of all the new people at first, but they did pretty well.  Especially Logan who has been notorious for not going to anyone but me.  He seemed to like Julie pretty well, and he loved uncle Mark.
Paige fell asleep on grandpa a couple of times.
We had such a good Christmas!  And despite the fact that all 5 of us got sick, we still had a lot of fun.  It was so much fun to be at the cabin with my whole family and get to visit with everyone and play board games and laugh until way too late at night.  I hope we can do something like this again some time.

Playing in the Snow

We had so much fun playing in the snow at the cabin that I decided to do a separate post for it.  The first day we were there we got some snow, and it was warmer so it packed really well.  Lucas and Ryan ran out and made a snowman as soon as they could.  It was a good thing too because it got a little too warm and all the snow melted.  The snowman survived, though.
On Christmas eve and Christmas day we got lots more snow, but it was too cold and it wouldn't pack at all so it was good we made the snowman the first day.
 Paige just kept licking everything.
And eating this tassel on her hat.
 The kids made snow angels.
And then afterwards when they were good and cold, we hopped into the hot tub.
We had so much fun enjoying our winter wonderland while we were there.  The kids loved the snow!  I am glad to be home and not have to worry about driving in it and getting wet every time I want to go outside, though.
