I just wanted to say I'm sorry our baby is mooning you all in his creepy picture in the corner. This is actually a very good representation of how he was positioned during our ultrasound, though. Looks comfy huh?

Also, I have been forgetting to take an updated belly picture, but I remembered this morning so here you go.

All For Some Pictures...

On Sunday I wore a new dress that I got for Christmas and Ryan was wearing a new pretty tie that he got and they happened to match and look really good together so I suggested we go take some pictures. We had heard about an amphitheater up behind the Utah State Hospital here in Provo that was supposed to be really pretty for taking pictures so we decided to take a look. We looked up the place on google maps using satellite view to try and figure out where it was. Then we drove up to where it was supposed to be but the road was blocked off so we had to get out and walk. There was snow and ice all over the place and we were dressed in our nice clothes, plus I'm a little less graceful than I used to be and am prone to slipping. Finally we found the amphitheater and made our way up the treacherous ice covered steps to the top and found a good place to take a picture.

We pulled out the camera and tripod and started setting up to take the pictures. Turns out there was no memory card in the camera. Since we had just spent the last 30 minutes looking for the place and then hiking up through the snow we were determined to take the pictures, so Ryan ran back to the apartment while I waited for him at the amphitheater. When he got back we put the memory card in and got all posed and started taking pictures and the low battery alert flashed. We had to take a few good pictures as fast as possible. It was quite the adventure and very frustrating at first, but then it was just funny, and I think we got some good pictures so it's okay.

This one almost makes it look like it's warm outside and we're not freezing.
But you can see all the ice and snow in this one.
And here is a cute belly picture of me.

I think Ryan will cringe every time I ask to take pictures now. But at least we'll probably remember to check for the memory card and batteries.

The Baby Room

We finally finished the baby room. Yay! Except it's not really done cause we don't have all the baby stuff we need in there yet, but it's cleaned and we rearranged everything to make room for all the stuff once we get it. It was quite a lengthy and time consuming process.

The room had wallpaper on one wall so our first task was to take all that down. I forgot to take a before picture of the entire room, but here's one of Ryan getting ready to take down the gross paper.

It took forever to get all the paper down and then we washed all the glue off the walls. There were about 3000 holes in the wall from nails and pins and stuff so Ryan had to spackle everything and then sand it. We followed the directions and wore masks. We looked awesome.

I wore one while painting too so the baby wouldn't get high off the fumes.

Once the paint was all dry we assembled the crib.

Then about a week later we finally found time to finish the room. Here is one side of the room. This is where our guest bed is. Now when you come to visit us, you can wake up with the baby in the middle of the night. And we cleaned off the desk so I can use it to scrapbook and sew.
And here is the other side with the crib that you've already seen. We're going to try and fit a rocking chair of some sort over here and probably a shelf for baby clothes and stuff.

It was a lot of work but it was worth it because soon we'll have a little baby to put in here. I can't wait.

Quick Update....

So, I'm not going to steal Katie's thunder and show all the room renovation pictures (mostly cause the room's not 100% done yet) but, tonight we set up the crib in the baby room and thought we'd show you all what it looks like.

Katie and I fell in love with it as soon as we saw it. Thanks to everyone who gave so generously for this purchase and for those who helped us get it home! You know who you are. :)

More to come soon!

Baby Shower

Well guys, it looks like 68% of you were wrong, both me and Ryan included. We're having a baby boy, (as if you couldn't tell from Ryan's post). We were quite shocked when we saw the ultrasound, we were so sure the baby was a girl and so was pretty much everyone else in the family. We're very excited to be having a baby boy, though, and Ryan is quite proud of himself that he has produced a male heir. I'm just glad that I've found some cute boy clothes at the stores lately. Usually you can only find cute girl stuff so this was a big worry of mine. What is the point of having a baby if you can't buy lots of cute clothes to dress them up in? Just kidding.

While my sister Sheri and I were home for Christmas we had a joint baby shower with some friends and ladies from our old ward. It was a lot of fun and I'm so glad that so many people were able to come despite the horrible weather.

And here we are doing synchronized present opening. There are way too many pictures so I'll just show the highlights.

Here are some cute hats we got.

My sister in law Ashley made us these adorable shoes.
She also made us bed skirts for our cribs, but these were Christmas presents. She did such a good job on it. I'm very impressed.
Another girl made us these baby slings. We were practicing putting them on and carrying dolls around. It was lots of fun. I can't believe how crafty some people are.
This is the little outfit my mom got me. It is so dang cute!

And these are some other clothes I got. I got more than this but since pretty much only my family reads this, I'm just showing you the ones from my family. The dark blue one with a lion on it is from my sister Sarah, the little blue hoodie jacket isn't from family but it's just too dang cute not to show, and I bought the other two with a "gift card" from my mom. Shopping for baby clothes is so much fun I couldn't resist.

And these little shoes are from my sister Julie. She got Pumas so our little boy can match his daddy. These were Ryan's favorite present. Aren't they just adorable?
Now we're home and we're trying to get the baby room started while Ryan doesn't have to go to school. We bought our crib yesterday, thanks mom! And we started taking the ugly wallpaper down last night. I'll post more pictures of the crib and the room renovation in another post. I am just getting so big, though, so I thought I'd post another belly picture. This was taken yesterday.
It's a good thing I got some maternity clothes for Christmas so I can wear pants again.
Also, I just wanted to post this picture cause it's funny. When we got back to Provo from St. Louis, we had all these icicles hanging down from our roof. Ryan had a lot of fun knocking them all down. Here he is holding the biggest one.
