Spring Pictures

We have some really cute pictures of Lucas and Paige up in our house, but they were taken before Logan was born, so we don't really have many of him, or ones of all three kids. Since it's so pretty and springy looking outside right now, we decided to fix that.  We found this super cute area to take pictures, and I got adorable outfits for the kids to wear and we got everything together and I had poses in my head and we were all set! Ha! You'd think I would know better by now.  Of course the kids decided that they absolutely would not hold still for anything.  Oh, and Paige is deathly afraid of everything right now - including balls of lint or wood chips that look remotely close to a bug or spider. And the place we were planning to take pictures did not work out so we had to go somewhere else. Despite all of the setbacks, we did get a couple cute ones.  If they had cooperated we could have gotten so many more cute pictures, but you really only need one of two good ones so in all I think it was a success.  I mean, just look! Can you even stand all the cuteness?
Don't worry, I was squatting behind Logan in this one, holding him in place.
Surprisingly we got a bunch of good ones of Logan. I just love that tuft of hair!
I couldn't pick just one.
I got this hat for Paige from the dollar section at target. I totally live vicariously through my children.
And here is our handsome stud.  He seems so grown up lately.
Now I only wish that Ryan and I had gotten dressed up and jumped in to one of them.  I love pictures!  I know pretty much no one else does, but I could seriously take pictures of our family every weekend and then just stare at them for the next week. So cute!

9 Months

Logan is such a little stud!  I love his cute little smiling face. When I take these month photos it's so fun trying to decide which of his current outfits or pajamas is my favorite.  Sometimes I can't pick just one, and then I have an even harder time picking which picture to use.  It's like when magazine's have different cover photos - I feel like I should make different options for his month photo cause I can't narrow it down.
He's really a very happy baby.  He's so smiley in the mornings when I get him from his crib.  He loves playing with Paige and Lucas and giggles when they chase and tickle him.  He plays on his own really well too, which is nice.  He's still such a finicky nurser, but it bothers me more than it does him.  He has gotten on a really good nap schedule which I'm really happy about.  He still doesn't sleep through the night, but he wakes up once to eat and goes right back to sleep, which is a whole lot easier for me than listening to him cry it out 2-3 times in the middle of the night.  I think maybe he's a bad eater during the day so he has to make up for it in the middle of the night.  Oh well. I feel like things go much more smoothly with Logan when I don't stress out about what I think he should be doing.  If I just let him do his thing he's so much happier.

He is SO close to walking.  He loves to walk around while I'm holding his hands, or holding on to whatever he can.  He walks with the Mater, the shopping cart, Paige's tricycle, the bathroom step stool - yesterday he was trying to walk with one of the kitchen chairs and it just wasn't moving as fast as he wanted but he was grunting and pushing so hard, he was determined!  He will stand really well without holding on to anything for long stretches of time now, he has good balance.

He's so proud of himself here.  He has taken steps lots of times before, but he just doesn't trust himself yet so he takes steps and then sits down, or just sits down right away and won't even try.  Last Sunday he was walking a bunch and showing off for my parents, and every time since then that I've tried to get it on camera, he refuses to perform. I'm thinking he'll be walking more than just a few steps in another week.  In the mean time he can just keep using whatever he can find to push, or hold onto my hands, which is his preference.

Logan's balance is a little better now, but when we took this video, if ever he would lose his grip on one of my hands, he would just fall like that. Silly baby. Also when he first started walking around with the Mater, he wasn't very good at steering so he would be super happy pushing in a straight line, but as soon as he got stuck he would scream.  I feel a little bad watching this video and hearing us all laughing at him, but we couldn't help it, it's just too funny!

Logan also really loves climbing up the slide.  He has gotten pretty good.  He climbs up to the top and then sits there and waits for me to help him slide down.  Sometimes he'll climb up there when I'm not watching and then I'll look over and he's just sitting there waiting patiently.  He's so silly.

We are having so much fun with this little guy.

Beach in Santa Cruz

We went to the beach in Santa Cruz this last Saturday.  The last time we went to the beach was last year in March.  We definitely need to go to the beach more often.  We had so much fun!
We love splashing in the waves!
Paige loves her daddy so much!
We brought the kids camping chairs so they would have somewhere to sit without getting too sandy.
But they figured out another way to get plenty sandy.
Daddy helped them dig a big hole too.
Paige and Olivia got in it together.
Lucas's turn...
Even deeper!!
Logan spent most of his time eating snacks in the tent with grandma. Here's Sarah, Becky, Scott, and Grandma hanging out. Jonah is in the back sleeping, but you can't see him.
I let Logan out after a while to feel the waves with his toes.
This was his first trip to the beach.  He was pretty excited about everything.  He's such a good little boy.
We sure do love living close to the beach!
