My Baby Shower

Yesterday my friends Amber and Michelle threw me a baby shower for all my friends and family here in Utah. They did a really good job and I had so much fun. Here's Amber setting up the decorations.

And here's Michelle and Amber setting up the food table right before people started showing up.

They also got me this awesome sash to wear. I think I might take it to the hospital with me when I go into labor. :)

Here's pictures of some of the people that came.

Here I am opening some presents, including the baby swing that Ryan's mom got for us.

And here is the swing all set up. We had Pooh try it out to make sure it works.

Thanks so much to Amber and Michelle for throwing me a shower. And thanks to everyone else who came and for all the wonderful things they gave me.

The Baby Room

Last week we went and got the dresser that matches our crib and we put it together on Friday night. Here's a picture of Ryan putting it together.

And here I am next to the finished product.

Then we moved the boxes and stuff that had accumulated and moved a chair and lamp into the room.

Now it's basically ready for the baby. I just have to move all the stuff from the crib into the dresser and we'll be set. Thanks to my mom and some extended family for helping us get some of the stuff for the nursery.

I was waiting for Ryan to find some time to write a post about his Brazil trip before I updated the blog, but he has been really busy with school and now it's just been way too long. So I'm going to go ahead and give you an update and you'll just have to check back in a week or so for Ryan's pictures of Brazil.

Ryan and I have been really busy lately. Ryan is finishing up his last semester as an undergraduate student. Next Tuesday is the last day of classes and we're so excited. He's going to be working over the summer so he'll still be busy, but it will just be nice for him to graduate and get this semester out of the way.

My sister Sheri had her baby on March 31st. For more info you can read my sister's blog. His name is Dallin and I think he's adorable. My sister was in labor for all of 3 1/2 hours and I'm just hoping that I'll be as lucky.

I got sick the very next day so I haven't really gotten to hold him since the day he was born. I'll have to make up for lost time if I'm going to be his favorite aunt. My mom and my brother John came out to visit Sheri and Dallin so I've spent a lot of time with family the past few weeks.

Here's Dallin with two of his uncles.

And here he is eating my sister Julie. He is a very hungry baby.

After the last conference session on Sunday, Ryan and I went for a little walk with my siblings up rock canyon. I can not believe how out of shape I am. I had been sick all weekend long, and the baby has started to interfere with my lung space, but I was walking a lot slower than everyone else, and breathing a lot heavier too. I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I finally made it to where we were going. I had to take a picture to prove it.

That's about all I have to talk about that is interesting. I guess most of the stuff we've been busy with is boring. Hopefully in a few weeks after Ryan has graduated we'll have more time and we can do more exciting things to tell you about.
