New Adventure

Ryan got called to be the second counselor in the bishopric today. I always thought that this would be such a scary calling, for me and for Ryan - but mostly for Ryan. I always thought that we would never be able to, or want to have a calling like this. But when we got called in to visit with the Stake President and he extended the calling, both Ryan and I felt good about it. We did not feel afraid or overwhelmed. That's not to say that Ryan is not slightly intimidated by his calling, but I think that the Lord prepares us for the things that he asks us to do, and so he helped Ryan and I feel ready and able to accept this calling. I'm excited for this new phase in our life and I know that the Lord will help us through it. Plus, Ryan looks so handsome in a suit and now he has to wear one every week. And when I was a little girl I remember sitting with my Dad on the stand when he was in the bishopric, and I'm excited for Lucas to have that opportunity. He's going to have so much fun climbing up the stairs to get to daddy. And hopefully his parents will grow from this opportunity and have fun as well.
