Disneyland

Now I'm going to play catch up on all the May posts that I haven't had time to get to with how busy this month has been.  We got passes to Disneyland last May, so we decided to take one last trip before our passes expired.  We pretty much did all the same stuff we've done every other time we've gone to Disneyland, so I won't post too many photos and bore you with the exact same shots as my last Disneyland post.

Lucas has been such a great traveler lately.  Paige on the other hand is getting to the point that she needs to be entertained and does not want to sit still for more than 30 minutes, so she's a little trickier.  These photos were taken about 3 minutes in so there were smiles all around.

First stop every time we go to LA - Cafe Rio!!  Who has time to take photos before you've eaten.  Here's my completely empty tin.

 First day at Disneyland, Paige is all ready to go.

 Of course we had to get a picture in front of the castle.  And of course we only took one picture and Paige's eyes are closed and my hair looks funky.  Oh well...

 And sleeping girl.  I got a lot of these photos.  She never slept for long, but she took at least a short nap every day we were there.

 And then of course the kids passed out as soon as they hit their beds.  We wore them out!

 The kids loved the carousel and we rode it quite a few times.

They also loved the toy story ride and the lines were so short we got to ride it a couple times too.  Paige liked the glasses best of all.

 Another favorite was the hotel pool.  We went almost every day to cool off after a hot day in the park.

Another cooling off favorite was Dole Pineapple whips.

My parents came down and went with us one of the days we were there. It was nice to have someone else to help out with the kids, even though I couldn't really run off and go on any of the big kid rides.

 Although I did go on splash mountain, and it was fantastic.

I'm not sure how I always make my mouth look so huge in these pictures.  At least my face wasn't covered in this one, although I did cover up my mom's...sorry.

We've been to Disneyland quite a few times now and I've always wanted to try a turkey leg and we never have.  Well this time we got one.  It was gigantic, but we all dug in and it was AMAZING!

We really enjoyed having passes to Disneyland for a year.  Now we're going to take a few cheaper vacations till our kids get a little older and can really enjoy it.  Plus also I'd really like to be able to ride some rides and it's hard when I'm pregnant half the time.

Lately...

I have been taking a lot of photos with my cell phone lately, because it is way too hard to keep track of two crazy babies, everything else I have to carry with me everywhere I go, and also a big SLR camera.  I usually post the cell phone photos to facebook and instagram because it's just easier, but I want to try to keep up to date on the blog, because I like my blog.  Anyway, some of these photos may be repeats for those of you that follow me on those other site, but whatever.

We've had a lot of lazy, snuggly mornings.  Our kids have actually slept in till 7:30 or 8 some mornings this summer, which is very unusual for them, and a fun treat for me and Ryan.

We have also spent a lot of time going on family bike rides.  Lucas and Paige love their double trailer we found on craigslist.

We go on a lot of walks in the trailer too.  We've had some pretty mild weather overall this summer and it has been nice to get out and enjoy it.  Here's Paige enjoying the nice weather at the park on the slide.  She loves slides.

We have had some really hot weather too, though.  When it gets good and hot we like to cool off at the pool.

 We also went down to grandma and grandpa Crapo's pool.  Lucas learned to go under water.  Sorry the video is all tall and skinny.  I keep forgetting to turn my phone when I do videos.

We have some new friends that moved in near by that we have been going on walks in the morning with and having play dates.  The other day they came over to play in the pool and have popsicles.  We have been very into popsicles lately.

 Paige loves the tricycle.  She's not quite big enough to reach the pedals, but she's got the hang of the bell.  Also, same thing with the video, sorry...

Lucas has always loved broccoli.  Here he is going back for seconds.  That's my boy!

And the last of the random photos from the last month or so, is Paige's first hair cut.  Lucas decided it was time for a trim.  I am so sad!  But, it really isn't too bad.  We can't do pony tails anymore, but Paige refused to keep them in her hair anyway so it's about the same.

I can't believe the summer is almost over.  Kids are starting to go back to school, and we're going to be starting preschool again here soon.  And Paige's first birthday is in 2 and a half weeks!  Time flies when you're having fun!

Utah Trip Part Two

One of the days we were in Utah, we went down to Provo so we could visit our old stomping grounds.  We visited campus and stopped by the Clyde.  Ryan's picture is still up, so we got a picture in front of it.

 Another day we went to This is the Place Heritage Park - another place we had never been before.  Geez, you'd think we never actually lived in Utah.

 There were a lot of buildings to tour and see how the pioneers lived when they first got to Utah.  We did more outdoor stuff, since Paige and Lucas were not interested in holding still and not touching things.  We rode the tram a lot.

 They had a little petting zoo area with pony rides.

 Paige didn't actually ride, she just posed for a picture.  She liked the horse, though.

 Lucas learned how to milk a cow.

 They had a little ship to play on.

 And an area to pan for gold.  Lucas loved this, and found a few gold flakes, and was so excited he had found treasure.

Right before we headed home we took a little train ride.

We had a fun time, but it was really hot.  That was kinda the theme for this trip.  Later that day we went to Julie's pool to cool off and then had some barbecued brats for dinner after.  Somehow I did not get a single picture of this, but we had fun and the food was delicious!  Julie made roasted strawberries and buttermilk ice cream for dessert and it was AMAZING!

The next day we went to the Utah Olympic Park.  We took a guided tour and it was actually way cooler than I thought it would be.  We got in a van and got to drive around and see all the different tracks they have up there, up close, and learn about all the different sports and records and stuff.  Here we are getting ready to try out the bobsled.

 This was taken from the top of the Nordic ski jump track.  It was a really steep hill and we held on extra tight to the kids for this part.  It was really cool to see everything up so close, though.

 And here's Paige and Lucas trying out the Luge sled.

 There was a little museum area with info about skiing, and a poster to take silly pictures.  Paige snuck in to Ryan's picture.

We had a pretty fun time.

We seemed to be pretty good at taking pictures while we were out doing things, but not so much of the stuff we did with family.  I didn't take a single picture on the 4th of July.  Oh well.  On the 4th we decided it would be a good idea to go out to breakfast for pancakes and waffles, but so did the rest of Utah apparently.  We had to wait a while, but we finally got some food.  Next time I'll just get stuff ahead of time to make breakfast at home.

Later in the afternoon we went mini golfing, go karting, and we played laser tag.  We left Paige behind to nap with grandma and grandpa, but we took Lucas along.  He loved everything, especially shooting people in laser tag.  Then we went to the Sandy city fireworks.  Lucas and Paige stayed awake to watch them, but they were really sleepy.  They were great fireworks and we had a nice close spot to watch from.

We tried to leave bright and early the next day, it was only sort of early, but we still got on the road in enough time to make it home all in one day.  Here's Paige terrorizing the play room while we were packing up the car.  She seriously sat in the play room keeping herself entertained for an hour while we finished getting everything together.  She particularly loved dumping out really messy things.

We had a really fun time on our trip, and we're glad we got to spend so much time with family while we were out there.
