Visit to the Fire Station

Last week Lucas and I went to take a tour of one of the Livermore fire stations with some of our play group friends.  It was so much fun.  The fireman that was doing the tour was really good with the kids and he did a great job of explaining everything to them.  He even put on all of his gear in front of the kids so that they could see it was still him underneath all the scary looking stuff.  Then all the kids got to climb into the fire truck for a bit.  Before we left we got a group shot in front of the fire truck with their firemen hats.
Lucas looks so cute in his hat and he likes to wear it around the house.

Another fun thing about this specific fire station is that it has the Centennial light bulb that has been going for 110 years.  Someone hand made this lightbulb special for the fire department and it's still going over 100 years later.  The story is cooler than the bulb, though.  The bulb is pretty dim and not very exciting looking.

How fun that you guys went to the fire station. That is a pretty cool story about the light bulb. I wonder how much it costs to power each day...
