19 Weeks

I'm 19 weeks today.  I'm almost half way through.  I'm done with the morning sickness so that's nice and now I'm just waiting to find out...
My ultrasound is scheduled for Wednesday morning at 9:15 and we can not wait to find out.  Mostly because Ryan and I are terrible at picking names and knowing the gender will narrow things down for us.  It's hard enough coming up with one name, we didn't come up with Lucas's name till 2 weeks before he was born, and now we have to do it all over again.  Geez!  Such pressure.  And then of course I want to make all sorts of cute blankets and onesies and curtains for the nursery and we need to know the gender before I can decide on colors and such.  Come Wednesday morning, I may have to hide my credit cards in the freezer so I don't go crazy.

I need to take an updated belly picture for the blog.  I feel like my belly has really popped in the last few weeks.  Although I was looking back at pictures from when I was pregnant with Lucas and I think I'm smaller this time around.  It could be because I had a desk job when I was pregnant with him, and now I run around with a toddler all day long.  I also weigh less this time than I did at this point last time.  Let's cross our fingers that I can keep that up.  And before you freak out that I'm dieting and trying to be unhealthily skinny during my pregnancy, I've already gained 13 lbs.  I just gain a lot of weight when I get pregnant, and most of it is in my face.  I'm thinking I'll take maternity pictures at like 30 weeks and pretend I'm full term.

And the big news of the weekend is I felt the first baby kick!  I love feeling the baby kick.  You always feel some stuff earlier that you think might have been the baby swimming around, but it also could have been gas, so I like to wait till I get a good firm kick before I call it.  I can't wait till the baby is kicking hard enough for Lucas to feel it.  He loves to come to my dr. appointments and see the picture of the baby up on the ultrasound screen and hear the heartbeat, but I don't think he really understands what's going on.  He points to my belly and says, "there's a baby in there", but then he points to his belly and says, "I have a baby too".  It'll probably be even more confusing when my belly starts kicking him, but whatever, I'll pretend like it'll make things clearer for him.

I'm so excited for you guys! Finding out the gender is such a fun thing! I'm 95% sure it's a girl.

So with Ezra I ate everything I wanted, had a desk job, etc. and I gained 50 lbs. With Asher I "dieted" I didn't have sweets, ate fruit, ran after a toddler, and guess what- I still gained 50 lbs. I think that's because I was pregnant with Romrell boys. So that's another reason why I think it's a girl. You generally gain less with girls.

Can't wait to hear! We always celebrate after with shopping and lunch.

I love feeling the baby kick and move around! By the way, I gained less weight the second time around.

I'm glad you are done with morning sickness. While unborn babies kicking is fun, I like playing with their feet after they are born. Those tiny feet are so cute.
