10 Weeks

I can't believe my baby is 10 weeks old already. He still seems so young and yet I'm constantly amazed by what he can do. He's pretty much always been able to hold his head up on his own and now that he's getting older he's even better at controlling his movements. Today I took the newborn hammock part off his bathtub so he could sit more in the water. He LOVED it. He just sat there and splashed for a long time and seemed to enjoy the extra freedom. He's also been spending a lot more time just playing, by himself and with me and Ryan. It used to be that there wasn't a whole lot of time for anything between sleeping and eating, except for crying of course. But now he usually has a good 30 - 60 minutes of play time in between eating and sleeping where he just sits there and kicks and smiles. I love it. During his play time he has started trying to roll over. He can only get up on his side and he isn't even close to getting all the way over, but he tries so hard and he seems to like being on his side when he gets there. Here he is eating his hand this morning. That's usually what he does once he gets on his side.

And later I went in to check on him while he was napping and this is what I found.

That's the first time he hasn't cried as soon as he woke up. He was just sitting there playing on his own. It was so cute.

A few weeks ago I took a bunch of pictures of Lucas and I haven't gotten around to putting them up on the blog so here you go. There were a bunch of pictures I liked so I just made a collage.

And here are some other random pictures that we took one day cause his outfit was so cute.

I'm just having so much fun with this little guy. He coos and laughs and wiggles and I just love it!

Hooray for lots of pictures! I just can't get enough of seeing what that 'little cutie' looks like. Sad to be so far away from him...

The first picture is so adorable. He really looks a lot like you did when you were a baby. Its fun to see proof that he has a little bit of his mother's genes in him. And the cute outfit picture is wonderful. There is nothing quite so cute as a little guy in his first pair of denim overalls. He looks very relaxed in the baby swing picture, and all the basket pictures are terrific.

I'm in grandma heaven with all these pictures to look at--I might not get anything done today, except staring at the computer...
