It's time for a belly update. I am at the end of 25 weeks, I'm almost to my third trimester. I'm feeling pretty good these days, although my belly is definitely getting bigger. I've been wearing my regular pants up till now, and can even still button my skinny jeans. But we decided to go shopping and get me some maternity clothes this week because even though I can button my jeans, it is getting a little uncomfortable to stay in them all day. All my pants from last time around are still way too big on me, and they're long pants because it was still cool outside for most of the end of my pregnancy, so we decided to go get some cute maternity capris from Old Navy for the warmer temperatures.
I am still smaller than I was last time around, but I think my belly is starting to catch up. And I thought I was doing better on weight gain this time, but it looks like I've only gained like 3 lbs less than last time so far. Oh well, I'm not too worried so my doctor is just going to have to get over it. We don't have a ton to do to get ready for baby cause we pretty much have all the stuff already. I do still need to do a few things in the nursery, and there's a few crafty things I want to make, but I can't ever find the right fabrics. Oh well, there's still time.
We also want to get a double stroller, but aren't sure which one. We really like to take walks together, but I don't ever run or jog so we don't need to spend the money on a really good jogging stroller, we just need something reasonably priced to get us around the neighborhood. I've been looking on craigslist to see if I can find a nice used one, but people seem to think the stroller they have been using for the past 5+ years is still worth just under what they paid for it. Anyone have a brand they really like and would recommend?
We went and registered at babies r us the other day. We didn't really need to, but I got a 10 gift card for doing it, so it was worth it. Lucas liked helping me scan stuff for his baby sister. He made sure to register her for a Buzz Lightyear doll. :)
May was a busy month for us, but now that it's past I really need to get started on all those things I want to do before the baby comes. The summer will be over before we know it!

Congrats Katie and Ryan, so happy for ya'll! As far a double stroller goes we just bought the joovy caboose stoller and we LOVE IT..it has a carseat attachment and the older kid can sit in the back seat, Reid loves that he can just jump on and off whenever! It is light weight and easy to push and fold up. That's my suggestion and if you get it on Amazon it's only around $120
I love that Lucas wants her to have a buzz lightyear. I'll tell you about our double stroller next week.
I have my eye on the city select double stroller. it is AMAZING. you can watch youtube video's about all that it does. it can configure to like 20 different ways to have the seats. it says it's a jogging stroller but it could be used for anything really. I have siblings that have the BOB double stroller, and they don't love it. it's too wide and takes up way too much room in your car.
also, you are looking awesome! you can tell from your picture that you are carrying this little one way higher than you carried lucas, so I wonder if the whole myth about where you carry is true according to gender.
can't wait to see what you do with your nursery!
I agree with Carlie about the city select. I think its the best one out there and as soon as I find a cheap enough one on craigslist I'm buying it. Only problem is they are still fairly new as a double and people are only selling them for around three to rive hundred used. They are way expensive.
We ended up buying the Phil and Ted double stroller because it is small enough to fit through any store or door frame and can be a single or a double (the double seat can detach as needed) the second seat is kind of a tight fit for Benz but he doesn't mind and only rides when he is tired anyway. Good luck. You look amazing!
I know absolutetly nothing about double strollers... sorry. But your belly looks great! I had to switch over to maternity pants a couple weeks ago because my other pants were so very uncomfortable. They kept pushing my belly into an awkward muffin top too so I just looked like I was getting fat. Not cool!
Excited for you and the new baby girl!!!
Double strollers- I absolutely LOVE my double Bob. But I jog with it and I also have a huge SUV so it fits in the back just fine. I love that I can push both boys (about 100 lbs) with just 1 hand.
For you I would suggest the Phil and Teds. I think Lucas could fit nicely in it (it's super compact) and it's cheaper than the bugaboo, baby jogger city select, and Uppa Baby. You can attach a car seat and take it off when the kid is old enough.
For the love of heaven and earth, don't get one of those crappy ones! (I won't name names!) You'll regret it!
Katie you look great! I'm so glad you guys are having a girl (and a wee bit jealous too!)
As for double strollers, I looked many, many months for one and finally ended up going with the Joovy caboose ultralight sit-n-stand. I like it since we have almost a 3.5 year age gap with the boys Peter doesn't always want to ride and he likes to stand on it too. I like that it's small and lightweight and that you can either stick the kid in the front or attach a carseat (in the front or back -- which is not what the factory says but let me know if you want me to show you how).
Best of luck finding one you like!
It was pasta INSTEAD of lettuce and it really was good! With the chicken it was definitely a meal and Ryan would proabbly like it! :)
