Train Museum

On Saturday we went to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento.
Lucas was in awe at first.  I don't think he's ever seen a real train before, just toy ones, so he was really excited about all the huge trains all over the place.  Here we are getting ready for a train ride.  Look at that huge smile.  He thought it was AMAZING!
Watching the pretty scenery go by while riding the train.
He sat and watched this motorized train go around and around for a long time until he realized there was more to see in the museum.
They had a lot of really cool trains here, and a couple different ones that you could get inside of and look around in.  Lucas loved the passenger car that had the beds and everything cause it rocked back and forth like a train would if it was moving.  And he liked getting in the engine and pretending to drive the train.
On the second floor of the museum they had a bunch of model trains and a whole area with train tables set up for the kids to play with.  Lucas could have stayed here all day.  He's really in to trains right now.
There was so much to see here and Lucas had so much fun, we will definitely be coming back.  They do a polar express thing at Christmas time where they do train rides with hot cocoa and cookies and then take the kids to see Santa.  We really might have to do that.

Looks like he is having such fun. I've always wanted to take the Heber Creeper at Christmas on their North Pole Express ride but it is expensive, $47 for adults and $37 for children. Maybe the Sacramento one is more reasonable.
