A Week with Family

Ryan went out of town last week on a business trip.  Luckily for me and Lucas, my brother and his family came up to visit the exact same week.  Lucas and I went down to stay at my mom's house for the week.  Lucas had a blast with his cousins.  Lucas and Madoc loved running around with Rocky.
Then they found these fun masks...
...and decided to play with them and rocky at the same time.
The first day we went to the Jelly Belly factory and took a tour and ate lots of jelly beans.  Somehow I didn't get any pictures of this, but the kids had a lot of fun.

The next day we went to the Happy Hollow park and zoo.  The kids rode lots of rides.
And played at this really big, really cool playground.
Waiting in line for the roller coaster.  Lucas liked being held by Sadie, who probably only weighs 10 more pounds than he does.
Lucas was very excited to ride the roller coaster.  He actually did pretty well on the ride too.
Grandma and Ashley take a turn riding with the kids.
And one more picture on the roller coaster.  You can see Neil holding his hands up in the last car.  I think Neil may have liked this ride more than the kids.
Lucas liked riding in these cars.
Even Charlotte got in on the fun.  She is so tiny and cute!
And everyone got to ride the carousel.
The next day we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  The kids were so excited to all be in one car together.
I didn't get very many pictures at the aquarium either, but I did get one in the wave room.  Always a big favorite!
And of course we had to get lunch at the Fish Hopper.  I had a crab and spinach risotto with lobster, shrimp, and asparagus on the side.  It was AMAZING!
The kids played at the beach for a bit after lunch.  Lucas was sitting in the sand when a big wave came and I didn't get him up in time so his pants got soaked.  Luckily I brought a change of clothes.  Here he is having way too much fun to stop and smile for a picture.
We stopped at the Dennis the Menace Park on our way home.  This was a REALLY fun park.  The kids liked this roller slide the best.
Racing...
They had fun rock climbing too.
The last day we took it easy and played games at home all day long.  After naps we went to see the Lorax.  This was Lucas's first movie in the theater and he did really well.  It might have had something to do with the popcorn and soda that grandma got, though.

Thanks to Neil and Ashley for driving up so we could play with them all week, and thanks to grandma and grandpa for taking us all over town and entertaining us.  We had so much fun!

I knew we had a fun week, but it looks even more fun with all the pictures. I'm so glad the cousins were able to spend time together. And I agree with Sheri, the pictures of the boys with the masks and snorkels is great!

It was fun having everyone around visiting. I think I need to go back to Happy Hollow. I haven't been there in years!

Oh how I miss Happy Hollow. I spent days and days there with Ezra when I was pregnant with Asher. So fun!
