Lucas's new room has two large beautiful windows, and I love them and all the natural light they bring into the room. Until it's nap time and Lucas won't go to sleep, and then at 5 he's so cranky he screaming at everything and then falls asleep on the floor and then stays up till 10 because he didn't take his nap on time. Then I don't like all that bright sunlight coming into his room. I purchased blackout curtains for our bedroom back when we first got married. They were pricey and I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend that much money. So I checked Joann's and sure enough, they have blackout curtain lining and it's pretty much the same price as regular fabric. Better yet they were having a Labor Day sale so it's was 50% off, so I got enough to do both windows for $10. That's pretty good. And I LOVE how they turned out. I kinda just winged it and I feel like they look pretty professional. I'm super impressed by myself.
I got the green fabric on sale at Joann's too. I love it.
Now, I took the pictures at like 3pm, so there wasn't full sun, but it was still pretty bright out.
Oh yeah, Lucas will definitely not be missing any more naps from it being too bright out. If you want to look at how I made the curtains, you can look at the tutorial here.

Wow, only $10. They turned out great. They make the room darker than shutters.
THAT is what I need to make for my little guy's room! What have the same problem unfortunately...
Only $10? That's awesome. They look really cute! You did a great job.
You're awesome!! :) We need some of those for our window...
I like the green color and the polka dots. Nice job on the curtains.
Black outs for the kids' room is a MUST! Hopefully he sleeps better now!
