Next I decided to make a lentil dish. The girl presenting on baby food said that lentils was the second most nutritious food to use in baby food, and I really like lentils so I thought I'd give it a try. I made up a recipe using the lentil and sausage soup recipe that I got off the food network a few months ago. It was seriously so good and so easy. I might make something similar to it for lunch today. I probably won't mush it up like I did for Lucas, though. It looks disgusting, but trust me, it's delicious.
Lucas LOVED all of the food. See for yourself.
It took me about 2 hours to make 60+ ounces of food. That's about 15 jars of baby food. And the total cost ended up being about 30 cents per jar, and at the store they are about 50 cents. It's not a HUGE cost savings, but over a year it's about $100 or more. And the homemade food is healthier and tastes better. For more details and recipes check out my other blog.

Wait a minute... what other blog? You mean I haven't been getting the whole story?
Sorry, I just now added the link to the other blog. It's just a craft blog that I do with Ryan's family. It has recipes and crafts and stuff. Don't worry, this is where the story is.
Those look really delicious! I'd eat those myself.
That Lentil stuff is making me crave oatmeal.
Yay! I always wondered why moms fed their babies that Gerber stuff that tastes like paste. This is great!!!
Look how domestic you are! And look at those teeth! What a cute boy you have!
Lucas is so cute. I bet the baby food you're making is so much more delicious than the store bought kind. I'm a little worried about those lentils, though.
I made Ezra homemade baby food and he spit it in my face. Maybe I have a picky eater?
Good job.
