I Made This

So, for the last month or so I've been working on designing and making a test fixture to test part of the tool my company is developing. A few weeks ago we went out and did the testing. I'm pretty proud of myself so I'm going to show you pictures. Here's a picture of us setting everything up.

The test fixture tests the compass part of the drilling tool so it needed to be able to spin at different angles so we can measure the exact position, (in all three directions). Here are just three of the angles that we tested at.

I've done other stuff at my job before now, but this was the biggest project so far and I did this almost all by myself so I was pretty excited when everything worked out. And I get a bonus next week for finishing this so I'm even more excited now that it's done.

You engineers. I never really know what the heck it is you're talking about (I just glaze over, smile, and nod when my brother talks about his job). GOOD WORK! It looks great! And I'm sure it spins charmingly!

I know what you're talking about and I think it's pretty cool. I wish I could show some pictures of some of the stuff I've been working on, or even just describe it, but then I'd have to kill you. (OK, I'm not that cool. I'd probably just get fired)

PS You seriously need to get rid of the word verification for comments - it is so annoying. I promise I won't sign in and then SPAM you.
